I don't want to rain on your parade but you sound like you are new to mechanics and I don't think you should be learning on a motorcycle, unless you have an experienced mechanic there to guide you.

 

hey, i am new to mechanics. i'd hate to mess up my bike in any way. one of my good friends has worked as a mechanic at an auto shop for nearly5 years and he helped me alot on my first bike (it was a ex250). i'll most likely ask for his help, but if he isnt there and anything goes wrong i always got you guys =]. hopefully the maintenence manual will help me too.

 

A digital camera and computer are also useful tools if you are planning on asking lots of questions here. Pics are worth a thousand words...
