Default What Clutch to get

I have a 01 F4i and my clutch is slipping when I pop the clutch to pull a wheelie, it just slips and wont come up. What clutch do you guys recommend OEM, Barnett, EBC? Do you think I should buy thesteels too, because most of the kits I have seen just come with the friction plates and springs. thanks

My springs were well within spec so I didn't replace them (though I bought them). I got the Barnett and I gotta tell ya... it's sweet. I had to adjust the clutch cable about an hour after riding, then about 4 hours after that. Then a day later I think I made the final adjustment. I was surprised as I've never had to do that with a car but whatever... seems to be getting worked into the steel plates and getting everything seated.

Have you changed a clutch on a CBR yet? Haha, have fun. It wasn't a complete PITA, and it was for the most part, pretty straightforward. You don't need anything special other than a torque wrench and a 27mm socket.

Oh and uh, make a trip to your local Honda dealer and order a clutch cover gasket as the kit won't come with one. Also, that gearbox nut (the 27mm) has an indention on it that you'll have to pry up without marring the threaded receiver, that's a PITA.

Have fun!

P.S. You should not need new steel.
