Hey guys.. I just bought an '02 cbr954 a few days ago. i'm looking over the bike with one of my boys that had one a few years back and noticed a cable coming from under the gas tank (not sure where its actually coming from) with some type of plastic adapter attached to the end with a button on the top. Has anyone seen this before... Sorry if i didnt put this in the right section.

 

Its not stock that's for sure. Is it a secure and solid mount? The pictures are kind of dark and its hard to tell much more about it. I was thinking maybe a camera mount. Trace with cable and see if it attached to the battery or something else.

 

could be a fan switch? have you tried turning it on?

 

No I didnt want to mess with it until I passed inspection. I'll push the button while its turned on tomorrow

 

No its not secure. It is zip tied to another cable

 

just turn the ignition on and press it, do it! it *shouldn't* explode or anything...

What does the other end connect to?

 

Sounds to me like it is for a speedo healer or a programmable black box. Or it could be for those cool led lights everyone likes...

 

i pressed it today and it didnt do anything. I guess i'm gonna have to lift the gas tank to see where the cable goes.
