What alarm do you have?
So, since it looks like I'll be leaving the CBR family and moving to a KTM Duke 690 I am now more worried about theft and damage to my bike. My 250 wasn't a huge concern since it was cheaper, but my new KTM is more than double the price and I want to keep it! I'm also going to school in the city vs. living in the country, and other reasons.
Anyways, I've of course heard of LOjack, but what other options are there out there? LOjack seems fairly expensive.
What's the best system out there? I have no problem spending the cash if it's going to work, and work well. A long range pager would be awesome so I got notified if I was in my dorm or in class.

boredandstroked is right - if a theif wants your bike, they will get it.
LOjacks aren't an alarm per se. Just a tracking system. When LOjack installs the tracking system, there is no decal or light to tell a would-be theif to think about taking another ride. When LOjack is activated, and the bike is located, it will either be a) parked/ditched somewhere b) written off c) being ridden, in which case they will probably outrun any cops that try and pursue.
I think your better off with saving the money on the lojack, and going with a quality chain, such as kryptonite, with a built in siren that goes off if someone tries to tamper with it. Best case is they see the lock and decide its not worth bothering.

I have a Scorpio i900. I bought the optional perimeter sensor with it. It's wired to the fuel pump relay. They won't go very far if they start it and try to ride away.
However, if they get within 1 ft of it (perimeter sensor), not to mention trip the tilt sensor, it makes a very loud racket.
Alarms won't stop someone from taking it but they will sure draw a lot of attention. I also have complete coverage insurance but just because I have that it doesn't mean I'm going to put a FREE TAKE ME sign on the seat and let a thief walk away with it.

Have the Scoroio RLink. What i like:
No cutting of the wire harness for alarm function
Easy install
Trip monitoring / mapping
Gps tracking
Perimeter / shock / ignition alarm
Rfid fob (don't have to press anything, just have to be near the bike)
What i don't like:
Very sensitive perimeter alarm (properly set to detect "lookers" is also triggered by large vehicles)
Monthly fee for no interactivity on their part
Cellular / email only way to receive alerts (no cell service, no warning)
Occasionally needs "resetting" ( gps gets lost and needs the internal battery run dry)
No ignition cutoff without cutting the wire harness
