Use chain lube and you'll double that number. I get 20,000 miles out of a chain and thats only cleaning and lubing every 1000miles or more.

Kerosene on warm chain (15 min. ride) to clean.
Chain wax or Teflon spray to lube.

Do it at every oil change (2000mi.)

Stock chain going on 19,000.

20 thousand miles out of a chain and sprockets?

Is your throttle cable broken?

I go thru a chain and sprocket set (Alu) about every 3rd back tire.

Exactly. I'm coming up on 15,000 miles on my original chain and sprockets. I only use Simple Green to clean it and actual lube to lubricate it. I expect to get at least 20,000 miles out of it.

LOL. With aluminum sprockets I go threw them quicker but I've been using steel superlite AFAM sprockets now and they last really good. I also use the higher tensile strength chain instead of a standerd one. Then again I do also get 10,000 miles from a rear pilot pure tire [while still pulling 2:08's at Indy raceway in willcox on said tire] so I seem to get magical numbers from my stuff.

God bless I guess.

I get probably 3 to 5 weekends max out of a set (race) tires. But I steer ALOT with the rear tire. I wouldn't last too long at Daytona.

(Yes I have in fact ran there)
