The way the kickstand switch works
hi. i'm here for a little help. in my bike let's say it's not running and i'm in neutral. then i put it to the first gear and switch ON the ignition while my kickstand is down (not up). after that i pull the clutch lever and try to start the bike using the starter switch. in this situation i can't hear any cranking or anything. so my question is when i'm in a gear with the kickstand down, does the kickstand switch kill the motor? or is it supposed to kill the ignition only without killing the motor so i can hear the cranking? thank you.
Lowered my bike, had to get a new kickstand. My bike starts fine in neutral and can put it in gear, but as soon as I pop up the kickstand it dies. I looked at a friend's bike and diagrams and it looks like I did it all correctly. Obviously I didn't. Can't figure out what I've done wrong. Any words of advice?

so basically,1) it starts fine in neutral
2) you bring the kickstand up and put it in to the 1st gear
3) when it's in 1st gear and you bring the kickstand down and the engine dies ?
thx
