alright i just got my carbs pulled off to check my valve adjustment and as i looked into my ports where i
pulled the carbs off i see the bottom of my valves and they look gummed up almost like tar , should i be worried about
this before i adjust the valves or should i do all this work and put seafoam in the tank, will this take care of this???

It depends on how tar like it is. there really shouldnt be anything on the carb side, the exhaust side there will be black build up, but not muchon the intake side. If there is, I would assume you might have leaking valve seals.
If its just carbon build up, its not really anything to worry about. Carbon build up is black, usually flaky. A Tar like substance though usually means oil.
Does it burn use any oil?
Can you see any blue smoke out of the exhaust?
How many miles are on the bike?

ive got 35000 miles on bike , does not burn oil , exhaust is usually white smoke,
its moreliquidy than tar i could actually wipe off from port
this is the first time checking valves and going to clean carbs other than that
just standard oil changes and plugs but the plugs i have to change every year in spring
to get started than it runs good until fall when it gets cold , i live in michigan

The intake valves will get a bit of soot on them and you may have spilled some gas on them taking the carbs off and it made the liquid tar/soot you are talking about. If its a large quanity then you got problems, make sure the air filter is cleanand anything downstream of them is clean and clear.
