RE: Vale adjustment
I'm pretty sure it's going to be pricey. My dealer wanted about $700 just to check the clearances. Im sure if they need adjustments it would be much more I bought a service manual and I'm going to attempt to check them myself. It's time consumming but if you've got the right tools and you can follow instructions it shouldn't be too bad. Here's a link on how to check them, see if this might be something you can handel.

wow...700 is way too much! what's his hourly rate? should be no more than 4 hours...and that is stretching it if you're a "mechanic"!
i say do it yourself, it's VERY straight forward, just take your time!
around here it's about 280 to get checked...and then another 150 or so if adjustment is needed.

You also might want to get your cam chain tensioner checked, if it makes the clatter on decel you may very well have a bad tensioner. Especially if it started suddenly, if it got worse over time it could be the valves but that depends on the severity. The price of around 425.00 for adjustment sounds about right.

RE: Vale adjustment
If you put your ear up to the engine cover on the right side, usually the motor sounds like it clanks around a little more because, well, that's where the motor is. If it's still under warranty, I would have them check your CCT, but you shouldn't need a valve-adjustment until at least 16,000 miles, and even then, most of the time, no adjustment is needed.
