What is the correct amount of torque on the front and rear tires of an 01 929 my chain keeps loosining itself and i want to know if its the wheel backing off or the chain is about spent.

Default RE: Torque settings

The torque setting for the rear axle nut wouldn't matter if the chain is loosening. You should be pushing the axle collars forward with those bolts inside the swingarm. Tighten the nuts down to the swingarm and the collars can't move backwards to relax the chain, regardless if the axle nut was coming loose. Correct me if I'm wrong...[sm=smiley5.gif]

Default RE: Torque settings

how old is your chain?

if it's like more than 8-10K miles, change it out. if your axle is loosening...check the chain slack adjusters to see if they are loose as well when the chain is droopy.
