Default Tire Size

Hey guys this might be a noob question and for as long as I have owned my bike, I have always changed the tires out with the oem size tires. IE 120/70s in the fron and 180/55's in the back. Would a 190/55 work on the back on a stock 2002 F4i rim? Also what would be the advantages and disadvantages of this?

A 180 rim gets a 180 tire.... here's a link explaining why.
