Default Tire help

what is the biggest tire i can fit on my 98 cbr 900rr ? rear tire is now 195 50 17. i wanna stay with a 17 but on that rim how wide can i go?

the bike is a mix of years of cbr 900rr's and i think all the rear swing arms are the same size. but i want to max out the tire width
thank you

I don't know your intentions with the bike, so I'll save the talk about the consequences of changing tire sizes, just be sure you do some research on the effects it will cause to your bike.

Having said that, it depends on your rim width, and the width of your swingarm. But, a 190-50-17 is probably the largest tire you can fit on that bike without modifications. Unless you have a wider rim than was factory, then it all depends on how much room you have on each side of the tire now.

like CBRclassic said... unless your stricktly dragging it's probably not a good idea to go wider. otherwise if you got $$ you can go insane.
