Tire wear at front tire is uneven
I have a 2006 CBR 1000RR. My first set of Pirelli Corsa tires did the same thing as my second set, which are Dunlop Sportmax Qualifiers.
My front tire is wearing eneven. The leading tread is tall and the trailing tread is cut low. It seems like the lean tread is getting cupped.
I have been running manufacture tire pressure - 36psi front and 40psi rear. I have left my suspension in the middle as it came from the factory.
I weigh 170lbs and drive 20 miles, time two, to work a day on a very curvey Highway 36 in California. Now my tire is getting bumpy on braking.
Well.........?

RE: Tire wear at front tire is uneven
another thing i was thinkin was there is little or no abrasive forces at work in the verticle ride position but when your leaning that big litre bike its just chewing that tire up !! plus these tires are pretty soft compound!! Try the mich Pilot powers !! How many miles you gettin out of those previous tires??

RE: Tire wear at front tire is uneven
I got 3500 mile out of my last rear tire, I had alot of hard decels and was having too much fun slowing down.
The last front had the same wear but there was still alot of tread left.
I was hoping some suspension adjustment might be the right direction.
I think it dives a little too fast under a loaded turn, but it's doesn't feel unstable at all.

I have the Dunlop Qualifiers as well, no abnormal wear, but they do get chewed up quite quickly (about 4500-5000 miles MAX out of the rear, about 9000 for the front). Are you using the tire pressure stamped on the tire or the bike? The stamped pressure on the tire should be the one you're using.

I do corner agressively and I am on my front brake a little too long.
Should I be braking while straight only and stay off of it when I start my corner?
I thought I was trying to lessen the braking as I reach my apex.
Might there be too much dive in my front end and an adjustment could help?
This is my first bike and I have 5500 miles on it now.
