Default throttle stop screw

can anyone tell me were my throttle stop scre screws in, and can it be gotten to without taking the engine out...i found the entire assembly, laying inside my fairing, not connected to anything.....this could be the root of my backfire no start problem.... any help is appreciated

I believe it goes in the carburetors, if I'm not mistaken in between the 2nd and 3rd carbs is where it'll screw in. if you're referring to the little cable with a **** on one end, and a screw on the other, thats actually your IDLE adjustment screw, but could cause a no start and backfiring issue.

thanks, very very helpful... i figured if the so called mechanic said it got spark, fuel and air then maybe that screw assembly being out would cause an incorrect adjustment fuel wise or related to casue the backfire and no start... i appreciate the help...

when i put it back in do i go all the way and back out 1 and 1/4 turns (less or more???)

I would go with turning it until the screw just opens the throttle bodies, and see where the bike will start at, then increase the idle just a hair more so that your motor is running at around 1500-2k rpm.
