Unhappy Switch Gear

Hi Guys
Hope someone can point me in the right direction ?, i changed my fork oil today after a long layup, after undoing the yoke clamp pinch bolts and removing the handlebars all went well, fork oil changed , also rear shock sorted at the same time, my troubles have only come to since replacing all parts, tightend all pinch bolts and replaced handlebars of course, but now my switch gear is loose ???, both sides, i undone the allen boil pinch bolt just under each switch gear and did notice that they became loose, but didnt think anything of it, however for the life of me i cannot see how to tighten the switch gear on the handlebar, have i missed doing something when replacing the handlebar pinch bolts ??, the screws that hold the two halves together are tight, but i didnt undo these anyway, as i say all i have done is undo pinch bolts on the yoke, two lower yoke , two upper yoke and the two handlebar pinch bolts, its really getting annoying holding the choke side switch gear when you use the choke, it moves around the handlebar each time you use it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys in advance .
Dave

Thumbs up wear n tear

Hi,
I had this problem some years ago with mine. It appears that once disturbed the plastic has some give/play that the screws can't get rid of.
Simple cure I used was to remove the unit and put 1 wrap of insulating tape around the bar at the contact point, refitted the unit and it hasn't moved since.

Hope that helps.

Hi Bugkiller
Thanks for the quick reply, I had thought about that but thought I must have missed something on reassembly of the forks, thanks for the tip anyway , I will do that today , just need to dig out some electrical tape , thanks again.
Regards
Dave.
