Default Suspension- Pistons and Valving

I am having some suspsension work done and in the process of deciding who to do it. My curiosity can been struck on a particular item and I think I may have found the shop to do my work. However, can someone please explain to me the relationship of pistons and valving, or better yet, provide some good reading on the topic?

Thanks.

If you really want to make your head spin try this suspension forum: http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spa...amp;topicPage=

Or PVD has some good reading here: http://www.peterverdonedesigns.com/suspension.htm and here: http://www.peterverdonedesigns.com/05fork.htm

There are some more out there but these will get you started.

Thanks Jason.
I read a "duke it out" on the 1000rr board between Max @ Traxxion and Dan Kyle. Seems like those guys have a blood fued. Until I know better, I'm staying away from both of them.
The thread is something like Traxxion vs Ohlins. It's more than 60 pages!!

Yep that sounds like Max and Dan, the one on 1000rr is just one of many, many, many that are out there just like that one... I think the best one is on the WERA forum. The scary thing is, I have actaully seen them having a civilized conversation with each other face to face before, a couple years ago at an AMA race.

i say just send it to abad's guy or stig at pps...or any of the other guys already recommended...and just head to the track and ride the thing...either way it's going to be much better than what you got now.

I like one of the guys that Jason748 recommended. He has the best price and seems to know his stuff. Unfortunately I just got an email from him saying that getting the work done on time may be an issue. I have a decision to make....I have to make sure that my parts will be finished for my school anyways (details, details).
