because when the stator burns out leaving the bike to run on battery power alone , then the battery will start to die and all that extra stress will also cause the reg/rec to go bad

so its probley on it way out then because it started with the bogging 1st ride then 2nd ride dash lights shut off so next ride im guessing bike will die.
would it be smart to replace the stator and the rectifier regulator same time or how do you figure out which one to replace?
also can i do it myself? if so does any1 have and good stepps to follow to replace them?
thanks for the help

tell you the truth just replace it all. when i had my f3 i bought it thinking the stator was bad, replaced it needed a new battery too. fine for 2 weeks then i had to replace the battery again (fine its under warranty) then 2 weeks later i finally had to replace the reg and charge the battery and from then on it was fine. so instead of playing catch up just trying to fix what is broken right now do it all @ one time (it saves down time later!) and yes you can change it all yourself. on a difficulty scale of 1-10 id say its about a 4.5 .
