Default Starting problems

I just purchased a 1987 CBR 1000 from a guy that wasnt running at the time. I've cleaned the carbs and the tank all up but it still wont start. Ive traced the power all the way through and all seems okay except that the 3rd and 4th cylinder isnt gettin any spark. I dont understand why though since they come off seperate coils and the other two cylinders are gettin a spark. If anybody has any ideas please let me know. thanks.

Default RE: Starting problems

isolate the plug wires that are not working by checking spark with new plugs, or ones you know work well. if they dont work, test the wires with an ohm meter, if the wires are showing higher resistance than the ones that are working, the wires themselves are probably damaged.
