Default Starting problems

Hi All thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
My daughter has a cbr125 56 plate. The fuel pump vacuum pipe came adrift last week and the bike obviously refused to start. I have reattached it after changing the air filter (tank removed) but it still won't start. Get a decent spark at the plug, plug is wet with fuel. Turning engine over seems to flood carb as fuel is running out of overflow pipe. I don't think I've reversed the vacuum and fuel pipes as I'm not sure fuel would flow. The new air filter is a pattern part but no other changes made.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, maybe take a look at the float needle valve, could have some dirt in there and preventing it from closing, could have come from the tank

Just a thought Steve, while you have the carb off, spray some carb cleaner into the inlet port of the engine and see if it fires, not too much though

Thanks for your suggestions. I took the air filter box off and checked the needle movement which seemed smooth. For some bazaar reason I decided to blow down the vacuum pipe and fuel pipes to see if they were clear ( they were) and then tried starting he engine and much to my surprise it started with the fuel remaining in the carb. As I replaces the air box, breather pipes etc I retried starting it with no problems .
All back together so will take it for a run tomorrow. Thanks once again
Steve
