Starting problem
Hi guys
I have an 01 f4i and the past few weeks it was acting up. When I tried to start it in the morning, it cranked up but wont start until the 4th or 5th cranking time. Could this be the fuel? cause i used 87 regular .. I know the manual said it requires Premium but i've been using regular for awhile and it's fine.. any inputs are greatly appreciated ..

I doubt its the fuel. But, if its suggested to run premium, I wouldnt run lower grade fuel. The problem is the lower grade fuel will ignite to quick creating hot spots on the pistons. You may think the bike is fine and you might not hear the pre ignition (spark knock), but it is there. That can lead to piston failure. Not really worth the 50 cents you save on each tank of gas.
Also, a weak battery will not start the bike as fast. These bikes need to crank over fast and if the battery is a bit weak, it will take longer.
