Starting problem
Ok, so i just got my bike back from the shop, and it was starting up fine, but with one uneven cylinder, road it today and it was starting fine. Parked it in my drive way for two hours, and went to go on a ride to get caught back up with the season. Bike starter started to turn and then just stopped, now when i try to start it it'll just click and thats it, eventually it will do a high pitch fast clicking sound but wont get close to starting. Does any one have any idea????
It was in the shop for back firing and rough starting, and they worked on the carbs, and cyclinders.
Also, I first thought dead battery as well, but i tried jump starting it, and it still did the same sounds. Would it still be a dead battery in that case?

It could be. take the battery out, bring it to an autoparts store like autozone or advance auto and them load test it. You may show good voltage, but if you have a shorted cell, you won't have the amps required to turn the bike over.
The first sign of a weak battery is the starter relay clicking because it doesn't have enough power to actually crank the starter. It jus clicks on and off and thats the noise your hearing.
First thing I would check is the battery itself. Its possible they didn't tighten the cables up. A loose connection will do the same thing. Also, check the starter relay to make sure the connection there is good.
If you don't have a multimeter. It might be a good time to go buy one. You can get a cheap digital one from walmart for around 20 bucks that will do basic voltage readings. you can troubleshoot a lot of things on your own.

check your cables, make sure your gettin a good ground. i had a problem on my 300trx that was the same, take the starter button housing apart, and check to see if everythign is still intact, on mine the little plastice piece broke causing me to not be able to "proper;y" push the button.
