Talking Spark plugs iridium

ok well i just bought my bike off a friend he has does so much to it and runs amazingly but can't remember when he last done the sparks.

So i was going to change them but was aiming to go best for performance is it worth going to the iridium ngk's or just the standard ngk, do they really make that much of a difference?
Thanks

Kieran

The only difference I have seen is in the increased life or time between service. They really seem to last for about forever. At least 50,000mi is about standard in an automotive application now. I can understand how folks can't remember the last time they changed their plugs anymore.

I find no difference in performance but I appreciate the increased service interval... especially on some of these multi-cylinders where the center/middle plugs are about impossible to get to.

There is more debate about the performance between brands of plugs.

I wouldn't use anything other than NGK or Denso personally.

There's not really any difference between the two.. they both make OE plugs for different applications so if you can get ngk they will be fine.

If you do try to gap these iridium plugs, be super careful....though instructions says no need gapping, some of us do gap it according to manual spec...that's the good thing about iridium plug, for whom that don't want to gap plugs...no need to do so. I replace my plugs with iridium 3 years back...bike runs like a champ...for a 18yo bike.
