smoking!
rode the bike to work, it sat for 8 hours, i started it, and it smoked for like 4 seconds, then it went away. it was 75 outside so not cold, it sat in a tropical storm over the weekend.. idk what it could be, it dusnt run hot or anything.. rides like when i got it. is this normal or no? also cct came i got an ape, its in the shop now . also it idled all weired too, could that be due to the cct? its done that since ive got it though

If it starts to do it more regularly I think I'd be concerned. Since it's the first time, just keep it in the back of your mind to keep an eye on it. For the idle issue I'd be thinking carburetors, but I don't know what bike you have so I don't know if you even have carburetors. I hope you didn't take you bike to the shop to have the APE CCT installed because it's a really easy thing for someone to do.

yeah i took it to the shop, my wife is out of town, and i have six kids, i didnt much want to mess with it, nor did i have the time so i just dropped it off. i have an f4 btw. so the idle that could just be that the carbs need to be adjusted? i ran sea foam in it also but just in the gas, ive never heard of sea foam making anything smoke when you put it in the gas, i didnt touch any vac line or the crank case, just gas..

As long as the smoke isn't there when you ride and is only for a few seconds after starting the bike, then I wouldn't be too worried. If you see a constant stream of smoke whilst riding along from the silencer(s) then it depends on the color. Blue is burning oil whilst fuel would produce whitish smoke if over fuelling is going on. I left my bike in the garage for weeks and it smoked on start up for quite a while; it hadn't done this previously. However, once on the road it disappeared and hasn't happened since. If you leave your bike leaned over oil can seep down the valve guides and onto the top of a piston causing the initial smoking, which will clear eventually when you go for a ride.
