HOW'S IT GOIN GUYS WELL I HAVE A 02 CBR 954 AND EVERYTIME I PUT IT IN SIXTH GEAR IT SLIPS IT'S REALLY WEIRD I THOUGHT IT WAS THE CHAIN SO I ADJUSTED NO DICE STILL DOES IT ONLY IN SIXTH GEAR THOUGH. ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANX.

 

Slips like how? The rpms rise and you don't go any faster??

If that's the case it's probably a bad clutch. Get going about 50 and put it in 3rd or 4th gear and mash it, does it slip when you do that, or only when you're in 6th?

 

YEAH IT ONLY HAPPENS IN 6TH. I TRIED MASHIN IT IN OTHER GEARS BUT PICKS UP FINE. THE SLIPPING IS WEIRD IT KIND OF CHATTERS WHEN IT HAPPENS LIKE THE CHAIN SLIPPING ON THE SPROCKET BUT I CHECKED EVERYTHING AND IT LOOKS FINE. AS SOON AS I DROP IT IN 6TH IT MAKES THIS CHATTER NOISE THEN TRYS TO GO BUT DOESNT.

 

Hmm... The only thing I can think of besides something being internally wrong with your tranny.. You said you moved the Shifter Shaft? Is it possible it's at an angle where it's hard to completely shift into 6th gear? I dunno, sounds like a stretch, but I guess it's possible.

 

First of all, make sure your clutch is adjusted correctly. It should have a little bit of play at the clutch basket.

 

CHECKED THE CLUTCH PLAY, I NEVER MESSED WITH THE SHIFTER SHAFT. STILL DOIN IT I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER SEE WHAT'S UP THANX GUYS.
