slight tick coming from motor

cctl is cam chain tensioner lifter.
no one has had engine damage from the noisy ticking. someone just post that they had it for 4 years and nothing. the fact that no one has had the cam chain jump while the cctl is making that noise may imply that the noise isn't the cam chain slapping around but rather, the cctl itself making the noise. those who have modded the stock cctl have had positive results where the noise disappears. doing the mod does not make the cctl increase tension, but rather, prevents side to side movement of the tip of the cctl. this also implies that the noise is not the cam chain.
APE's design is very simple, very little moving parts...less things to move around. yes it will solve your problem, but as far as correct tension...it's very hard to figure it out with APE. only damage i've heard about is from APE being too tight or too loose...not the stocker.

Tahoe is right. unless you are mechanically inclined the best thing to do is to remove the stock cctl and stake the pin that holds the tip of it on. Make sure you get a new cctl gasket though or you can have a small leak there. The gaskets are less than 5 dollars.
