Default Silverstar bulb question

I know there are a lot of posts on the silvania silverstar bulbs, but I was scrolling through Ebay and found a set of silverstar ultras. The ultra claims to be 25% brighter and last longer compared the the regular silverstar. Has anyone had experience with the silverstar ultra or does anyone know if the ultra is truly better than the regular silverstar? Thanks

i say forget either one and go with osram silverstars or philips vision plus.

osram = overseas sylvania. for some reason osram has much better quality than the stuff here.

www.powerbulbs.com has them.

After looking at the link above I came accross the Philips X-Treme Power H7 bulb which sounds like the best replacement bulb on the market. Has anyone ever used these?

I have not personally used the Philips X-Treme. But, I do know the Osram Silverstars work well. There is no tint on the bulb unlike the Silverstars you get at Walmart or Autozone. They are just bright. Most important, dont try to runa higher wattage bulb! You will fry/melt your wires!! $$

I've had sylvania silverstars in a bunch of cars, no problem. I have the Silverstar Ultra as my High beam in my bike, it is about 7000 miles and no problem. If the osrams one are supposed to be better, use those, make sure you don't touch the bulb, the oils in your fingers will create hot spots and may cause premature failure.
