Shorter riser compression springs? CBR600 F4 '99
I recently discovered my #4 carb riser spring had shattered in its chamber (which shredded the diaphragm :/ ) related to improper assembly by a past owner. It's remarkable the bike ran so well for the four years I've had it.
I am having great trouble locating a match for the remaining three springs, which are 6'' , best I've found is a set of 5.5'' springs. I've been doing some reading on people shortening springs for a number of reasons, chiefly faster throttle response. Though I would prefer to use the factory size springs, I am willing to try a shorter set but wondering if anyone has had experience experimenting with spring sizes and results.
I will scour the planet for this spring if it means not having to rejet, but if there's a workaround that would be fantastic.
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks
