Is anybody here using Shell's synthetic Rotella 5W-40? From what I read its loaded with lots of ZDDP and contains no friction modifiers. So far I have about 300 miles with this oil and so far no trouble. From what I have also read, most HDEOs are rated for wet transmissions in backhoes and bulldozers. Whats everyone's opinions?

 

Not too familiar with it...Do a search on the forum here about "oil"and see what gives...

I got my bike in May, changed the oil with it, and after about 4-500 miles, no problems. I decided to use it since it's the same thing I use in my diesel truck.

 

I've been using it for a couple of years now in 2 different bikes, so far nothing has blown up. I used to be picky about oil untilI read about this guy with a CBR 900 with 150,000 miles on it, he used Castrol GTX conventional caroil.

 

it's damn cheap at walmart! haven't used it yet but will be my next oil since it's much cheaper than mobil 1 gold cap.

 

I've been using the Shell Rotella T for over a year now on 2 different bikes. We've put about 15,000 miles each on them over the last year. No problems at all. Great oil and the price is hard to beat.

 

I've been using it for a while now on both my bikes. I'd recommend it!
