scotch tape...
I was wiring new front blinkers and i had to splice two cables together and i didnt have electrical tape so i just wrapped scotch tape aroudn them... is that goign to effect it... its all hidden inside the front fairing so it wont get wet or anything...

You should go to a place like Radio Shack and get a wire splicing kit and crimp the wires using the proper connectors and plires. If you goto www.painlessiring.com you can find them on their site too. Just wrapping the wires to gether and scotch tape won't do it. In fact the Greggs lights should have come with the connectors so all you need are the proper pliers which you can get at Home Depot really cheap.
Scotch tape will work temporarily. However, given the elements that the bike must withstand... the tape wont last long. If the wires become exposed and get dirty/wet you risk shorting out parts of the electrical system. I highly recommend the correct splicing connectors, and then electrical tape over the connector.

Definately get splice or crimp style connectors. With the vibration of the road and the elements, its the most effective and reliable solution. If you use the right connectors electrical tape is a mute point.
