Default salvage title bike?

I'm looking at a salvage tittle bike for my gf. It seemed to be in good shape, ride straight and no crack on the frame. My question is what should be a different in value for a salvage tittle bike vs a comparable clean title bike? $1000, $2000 on a $5500 bike? Everybody knows how easy it is for the insurance co to total a bike out even the damage is comestic.

Some of you would stay away from salvage tittle bike but I know a lot of people rode them without any problem at all.

savaged title is worth less. Amount tho is all in the eye of the buyer tho.

I would totally go for it, but you need to look it over extensively before you committ to it. I would stay away from anything with obvious damage to the forks, front wheel or frame. But swingarm, subframe and body are no big deal. Depends what kind of bike it is I guess.

Take it for a test ride (if they let you). My first bike was a salvage title and i would still be riding it today if I had a way to store 2 bikes.
