Default Running Rich?

I recently purchased an 04 600F4i with a D&D exhaust (sucker is crazy loud) with around 7500 miles. My buddies bike was parked behind mine when I started it up and then he followed me a couple of miles. He told me he could feel something hitting his hand when he was right behind me and his bike had little black specs on the front which were not there earlier. I laughed at him cause he's always giving me crap about my bike (he has a ninja 636), I told him my bike just took a **** on his bike and to get over it.

Anyway back to the question at hand. Is it running rich? Is it burning oil? Whats the deal here?

I was under the impression that a catalytic converter was needed to have moisture in the pipe.

If it were running rich or burning oil what would some of the other symptoms be?

have you pulled your plugs to see how they look ? they would be a good indication , also have you noticed any difference in fuel consumption ?

Haven't pulled the plugs to check, but thats a great idea. I will do that this weekend.

I've only had the bike for about a month and a half so I really dont have any thing to compare fuel consumption to. It pretty much burns it at the same rate since I got it. I run 93 octane gas through it. When I fire it up I can smell the high octane fuel really well. If you have ever been around race cars thats kinda what the exhaust smells like.

Yeah first bike here. I guess it is what it is. Since the exhaust is so loud everything must flow straight through it. I dont imagine it is gonna catch anything. Ill just let everyone know if you dont wanna get **** on, then dont ride behind me.

Next time I change my oil Ill see how much I drain out vs how much I put in to see if its burning oil.
