My bike runs very rich. It has a slip on but no filter, if i install a aftermarket filter will it lean it out a little bit?

 

Sorry, I dont have an answer for you but my 01 seems to run a little rich too.. all i have is a slip on. I would have thought the slip on would make it run a little lean if anything. ????

 

how rich? bad gas mileage? any performance loss?

 

gas mileage is pretty average, performance is great like always. it just stinks of gas

 

Same symptoms and problems I have, also sometimes it sounds l-i-k-e it's backfiring.

when my 01 f4i was running rich it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. but i was getting awful gasmileage and it reeked of gas. i would also check spark plugs. an aftermarket air filter isnt gonna change much

 

I have an 01 running rich for some reason too. it has Full exhaust PC3 with the right fuel map from dynojet. I actually backfire and shoot flames :-/

 

i have an 01 and mine is running rich, getting horrible gas mileage like 70 miles to a tank, should i replace the fuel pressure regulator and if so how much did it cost u, i just replaced my sprockets to 1 down in the front and 4 up in the back i dont know if maybe that is causing my gas mileage to go down
