RR battery or stator?
Just got back into town about a week ago and I ran into a starting issue with my bike. Its a 2003 Honda CBR 600rr with about 26xxx miles on her. I just did her 24,000 maintenance and everything seemed fine with her and recently replaced her oil again.
I went up to santa cruz for the day and she started just fine. Stopped a few places up there and she fired up strong. Then I went downtown and was in stop and go traffic for about 10 min and staled it at a stop sign (I know... ). went to go fire her back up and she wouldnt turn over. It was like she had a weak, dying battery. Lights were on, and she rev'd up every time i turned her key to the on position like normal but she wouldnt turn over (in fact the trip A restarted making me think the battery was just completely dead). She was runnin' around 220 F when this happened. I pushed her into a near by parking spot and went to go get something to eat hoping the battery might recharge. 1 hr later i tried one last time to turn her over and she fired right up.
Got home and parked, next day tried to start her and again she would not turn over. I got on the forums and saw that besides the obvious dead battery it could be the RR or the stator? Based on some previous threads I decided to push start her real quick (she was dead) and after I got her to fire i turned her off (within like 5 secs) and tried to turn her on like normal and she fired right up like shes been running perfect.
Does this sound like a bad RR to you?
Maybe the stator?
since she started fine after a push start i dont think its the battery anymore.
Im pretty mechanically inclined when it comes to engines (worked on a 67 mustang since i was 15) but i know sheit about these motorcycle engines. any links or advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
