So I've come a long way, the bike went into the shop where they did the following.

New fuel pump, new stator, changed big chunk of wires from behind the cluster and completely rebuild my carbs.

When I picked it up, it idled like a dream. All 4 cylinders firing, purring. But there was not a lot of power.

I've been riding it and some days it runs pretty good, like 80% of how it should, no stalling. However, after riding it for a while, it will become difficult to start after I turn it off sometimes. When it get's cold, it's obvious it drops to 2 cylinders. 1 and 2 are still not firing consistently. I noticed they are both the black with white stripe wires. It's intermittent so I can't test it in pieces. It is worst when the weather is cold. I rode the hills on a warm day and didn't have HUGE power loss, but I couldn't get it above 120 either, 2 days later at night I went up the hill about 30 degrees colder and in 5 mins i was on 2 cylinders, turned around and came home still on 2 cylinders. So my question is...

Where does that black with white stripe wire come from? Is it straight from the stator? I think this is my problem. Any thoughts? I'm not a mechanic, but I've done a lot of basic work. I'd really like to see which wire is feeding these coils/cylinders. Is the cold weather playing into a bad or weak connection?

Thank in advance guys, I think I see light at the end of this tunnel.

is this it?

Broken wire, bad connection or new one?

Just thinking out loud.

Well, not sure how that was intended, but it's the original engine. The one wire that feeds the coil for plug 1 is the same wire that feeds the other coil for plug #2. I'm going to have a buddy test it leaving the ECM and compare. It to the plug 3 & 4 coil sides. All I can do is compare I guess.

I may just solder another wire on and run it to the cables and ride it for a couple days. That should narrow it down to ECM or wiring issue. Hope this doesn't mess me up. Let me know if you see somthing I don't. Hope I don't fudge anything up in the process.

It was a joke, my daughter's grandma drives a hyundai and sometimes its slow and randomly it will want to act like its a ufc fighter on a rampage. Burning out an such. They are somewhat irratic engines from my experiance. Sorry man its a honda, it will run good once the issues are addressed
