Reserve Tank
Hi everybody,
I am theproud newowner of a Black CBR 600F 05 plate. It's my first bike IPicked it up today and rode it 100 miles through the pouring rain, getting lost for an hour in London. The whole journey I was wondering how I know if I need fuel. then the reserve tank came on.
Hence my question....
How far can you ride on the reserve tank on my bike ???
Thanks and hope you can help

Going on reserve means get fuel now.
Not sure how big your reserve tank is...you guys count in liters, or something strange..
But for instance, my reserve is less than a gallon US; you probably have three liters reserve...so whatever your fuel mileage per liter...

You should hope to find a gas station within the next 20 miles once your light comes on. This will vary depending on how you are riding and or if you are in heavy stop and go traffic.
Yup, what these guys said. I have a HUGE reserve for my bike, at something like 1.1gal, which is pretty impressive. then again I've got a 5.5gal tank on my ninja 1000 now. got rid of the cbr and replaced with a ninja.
but once your reserve light comes on, seek THE CLOSEST fuel station or you'll be pushing it to that nearest fuel station.

I have experienced this push to the gas station before... its no fun. Especially at 11 pm on the interstate. I wish my F3 had a fuel gauge... But I never ran out of gas again... so I suppose you can learn from mistakes of others or not try to push it when on reserve....
like they all said, get gas. I made the assumption on my 900rr i would get X number of miles on reserve. Needless to say i was pushing it sooner than i thought. But i did learn how far i can get on my reserve.
Fill the tank to the max then reset your tripometer then ride until
you need gas again, either wait until you need the reserve or open
up tank and take a look and check that way. then you know howmany
miles/kilometers you have in a tank of fuel. everytime you fill up just
reset the tripometer. its not a nice empty full fuel gauge but it helps
to tell you when you are getting low on fuel.
