I was riding last night and tried to lock the rear on the 1000RR. It locked up sure enough, but it took some effort and was more pressure that I would reasonably apply. So I think it works per spec, but certainly the front brake has more feel to it.

Fren Tubo braided stainless steel hoses sorted my 04 out and I'm about to fit same to my 06. I even fitted them to my car a Nissan 350 Z, half the travel on the pedal and much better feedback too
