RE: Removing Oil Stains created by chain wax
Wot do you mean by stains, on the rear wheel /paintwork?
Anyway this works for both, do you guys have WD40? cos you do, you invented it. Try a generous amount on a rag for the rear wheel, soft cloth for the paintwork. It breaks down the wax into a liquid, and then just wipes off, don't get it on the tyre though. Actually I think the guy who invented that stuff (who ever he was) should be nominated for saint hood.

For my rims I just use non-chlorinated bike parts cleaner and a rag. Cleans the stuff right off. Wouldn't use it on the plastics, but the wheels don't seem to mind. I also agree with teh WD-40 or other lubricant. There are just enough solvents to help remove the gunk.

i've had good luck with Plexus. pretty expensive, but so far, it's been well worth it. i use it on rims, plastics, even my helmet visor (though i don't recommend you use the same rag for all 3 in that order). Plexus is a clear plastic cleaner that's safe to use on any clear plastic without having to worry about scratching. however, don't go and use a dirty rag or a paper towel and then tell me the Plexus scratched your paint :P ...and yes, it gets the wax stains off my lower fairing and rear wheel.
