Default rebuild or part out?

hoping to rebuild my '00 929 but noticed cracks in the motor where the mounting bolts attach (bike was wrecked HARD on the front end). can or should these be welded or should i start selling off whats left? experience has shown me just about anything CAN be welded, but is it done on aluminum engine blocks/heads? I knew the frame was trashed but the cracks in the motor seem like a dealbreaker. any suggestions are appreciated.

I wouldn't want to ride it, but this is really a case of throwing good money on top of bad.

I would steer clear. A used motor isn't all that expensive, but if you've already got a trashed frame, I'd say part it out and use the money to get your foot in the door on another one with less issues.
