Default rear brake honk

I have a '94 900RR. When I bought it brand new, I was getting this disgusting "honk" when the rear brake was applied. After several trips to the dealer, they still couldn't fix it. It took me sending a letter to Honda in California before they finally fixed it correctly.

Recently, I had it in for new tires. The dealer (now under new ownership) told me I needed new rear brake pads. I told them go ahead and put them in. Lo-and-behold, the same disgusting "honk" from 15 years ago is back!

I don't ride hard, I guess thats why the original pads have lasted this long. So now the new dealership service dept. has no clue how to get rid of the honk. I'm now at four trips to this new dealership again. A buddy just said put it up on a stand, and adjust it out yourself. That's what I'm going to do.

Question: Whats the best way of getting an exact measurement from the swing-arm pivot to the rear axle so it can be the same on both sides? My buddy who works on a lot of bikes says that's the problem. When he was over a my house last week, we got rid of the problem. But after 10 miles or so, it came back.

The dealership wants to rebuild the caliper and give me a new rotor. Forget it! We greased up the piston last week. It's fine. Bastards...

Did he fit OEM Honda pads? If so maybe a set of EBC's or good after markets pads, may fix the problem. PS. Remove the 'Honk if your horny' sticker.
