Question of the day.
My question of the day is, power commander or not. I have a 2005 cbr600 and just got a hold of some money and I am interested in a little more juice. When I got my first service the dealership said it doesn't do much, but my friend swears by it even though he doesn't have one. So, needless to say I can't be sure. According to dynojet the usbIII can take a stock bike which is about 65 percent efficient and increase that to about 90 to 95 percent. As I am new to this style of bike I don't know what is bs and what is fact. However, the thought of a crisper throttle with more accleration is making me as giddy as a school girl. So what say you guys?
I added a PCIIIUSB to my stock CBR and didn't notice a difference. I noticed a big difference when I added my Micron single port carbon fiber exhaust. If you have not bought one yet and can afford it I would spend the money on a new less restrictive exhaust and the PCIII. With my Micron slip on and when using the map on the DynoJet site for the full Micron system my 600 will lift the front wheel off the ground about an inch when I give it full throttle in first gear. It sounds great too!
While we are on the topic I upgraded my PCIIIUSB with the accelerator pump mod and after adding the recommended street settings I thought my bike performed worse. It seemed to have less power all around and was straining harder when trying to bring the front wheel up while doing power wheelies.
When I have more time I am going to play with the accelerator pump settings to see if the race set up is better for my style of riding. If anyone has a setting they recommend, I am looking for more mid range power that will let me power wheelie better with out messing with the sprockets.

I agree -- the power commander is like a launching pad for other mods. It'll make the stock bike a little crisper and add maybe a couple hp but it'll really shine when you add a slip on or full exhaust.
Thanks for your input guys. I did forget to mention that I do have the micron dual outlet slip on so I guess that I'll be lookin into the commander a bit more. I just don't want to end up backpedaling and gettin myself all pissed off cause I can get the set right.
