Default Question about possible subframe swap!

Wanting to swap the rear subframe and tailsection on my '99 CBR 600 F4 for an F4i. Is this possible without any fabrication work?

The only thing you would really need to fab, would be a bracket for the fuel pump. Other than that it's just little tweakings. Do a search in the F4 forum and you'll find a lot of good threads on this with step by steps.

NO, you do not need to fab a bracket for the fuel pump. You can cable-tie it to the split-seat subframe in the very same location & it will be fine. NO fabrication of any kind is required.

I have a tutorial of sorts in my photo gallery. I've got photos w/ descriptions of the steps to complete the process. I rerouted the rectifier to the L side of the split-seat subframe & bolted it to the same location as the split seat rectifier location. The ECU was rerouted to sit on top of the battery. All other electrical components mounted to the R side of the subframe.

Good luck. Its a pretty straight forward project.

100% bolton swap. My fuel pump is zip-tied up under the battery tray. But I have a RR swingarm too lol. I plan to eventually relocated it to the F4 shock res mount.

That link alone will not guide you thru the entire process. Like many shop manuals, it leaves gaps in the process that leave you to formulate your own solutions.

That link is a good resource for a split seat subframe swap, & it helps greatly, but it doesn't show all steps. Too, that tutorial is for an F4i to F4i swap...not an F4 to F4i swap. There are differences. In my tutorial, I've tried to clarify some of those gaps & differences.

If you need any help at all, please feel free to contact me & I'll do my best to walk you thru it.

Good luck.
