So when you look through fairings there they have pictures of everything, the left and right side fairings, headlight fairing, tail section and front fender...

But what about the gas tank? Do they give you a cover for that? Or are you on your own to get it painted? I was looking at the repsol fairings and the picture of the bike (fairings installed) looked great, but the tank was orange and matched the kit.

Once again, painted or is it an abs overlay?

 

Usually when you buy fairings fir a bike that comes with a tank cover like newer cbr's... A fairing kit will include the tank cover. As for older bikes like 929's and 954's, you're on your own as to match the tank with the new fairings

 

That seems to be the case for the F4i's. I just ordered, and no tank cover. It seems to depend on the model and year.

 

Ah damn. I would have strongly considered saving up for the respol kit this summer, but if there's no cover then I can't switch between stock and aftermarket (obviously). Oh well, thank you guys

 

i got my repsol kit from them. there was nothing for the tank, i got that custom painted and i bought repsol tank decal kit.


i like it that way though. ya, it adds a lot of money to the costs, but it looks better


and remember, the back of the fairings are not painted, so the backside of the top fairing looks blotchy, but for the price, i am satisfied
