Project Comfort Race Bike!
Hey Guys,
I didn't know where to post (F4i section or CB section) so I'll plop it here and hope for the best.
I'll cut right to the chase. I have an '01 F4i, I want to put the top yoke, bars and brakelines from an '02+ CB900/599F (Hornet) for a more ergonomic riding position.
I know there's kits and risers and all that junk out there but those cost in excess of $200. Can anyone confirm if this swap will work? The only info I can find is that the fork tubes share the same 43mm diameter and front end setup generally looks identical.
Maybe there's a microfiche I can compare part numbers too? Appreciate any help!
Main concerns are:
Distance between the forks (if the yoke will even fit)
Head bearing shaft size that passes thru yoke
Brake lines bolt up to F4i master and caliper
-Brandon

Thanks!
I was able to determine a few issues from that but nothing that would be a deal breaker.
-Fork spacing is the same (both bikes use the same front axle) which tells me the yoke should slip on
-Caliper banjo bolts are the same as well as brake line indexing
-Same head bearings; however the stem is longer (potential issue but can be remedied with cheap bar spacers or dirt bike bars with more raise)
I'll post pics as I go!
Thanks again.

I got the top clamp, it fits perfect. It's going to be a bit before I make anymore progress. I need to find a shop that will let me buy a bunch of bar styles and then return the ones I don't like. After that I can figure out if I'll need to extend any lines/wires.
As it looks now I will likely only need to buy the CB919 brake lines - which kinda sucks since I upgraded to braided stainless a couple years ago.
I'll keep you updated!
