Default Comfort, which bike?

I bought a year ago a very nice CBR 600F4. Loved it and recommend it, but.. I couldn't get comfortable on the bike. In flat land Ohio, many rides are just point A to point B. My wrists would be burning and my neck would be sore. In a way, the bike was too compact for me. LOVED the engine, just want more rise to the handle bars and a little more seat room. What I am looking for is an inline 4Honda sport bike, that leans a little more toward not so aggressive riding position. Would I be happier with a CBR 900,929,954 or 1000? I am not as concerned with year as condition. All these bikes including the 600, have more than enough power for fun.

i would look into a honda VFR, or yamaha fz-6 which has the same powere a smoothness as the f4 but is fuel injected and it little more sit up. my friend has one and he loves how comfortable it is. here is a link to a pic of it--http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...1/0/image.aspx

For long riding I love my suzuki katana 750. It rides like a caty and has the power to go tru the 1/4 mile doing 11.80@118mph. Don't get me wrong I love my cbr900rr but it rides a little stiff and on a bumpy rode I feel every bump. Johnny

Tell me more though about 900RR. I can probably soften the ride, but how is the rest of the fit. I have been a Honda guy since '73, I really would hate to change now! I was hoping that maybe the earlier bikes, like the 900RR didn't have the aggressive riding position that my F4 has.

If you can soften the ride then the position is great on the 900 and you will love the torque. It runs alot lower on the rmp over the 600 and I get 38 mpg. What can I do to soften the ride. Johnny

If you can't do it by adjusting the spring, you could do it by going to a softer spring. Contacting some of the suspension companies will give you the best way to go. Great to hear that the position is nicer.

I sure would!!!! But, will they fit inside the fairing cut outs? Love the bike, just not the aching wrists and neck. At 80+mph, the weight on my wrists goes away, but then I am also running illegal.......again.
