hey guys(and for the PC police), gals. I have a question about how comfortable the 1000rr is for a guy that is 6'4" and 300 lbs? I like to run the hell out of my bike, especially on long hauls, it is currently a 91 1000. I am looking to upgrade to more power but dont want to get rid of my wale if i cant replace it with something thats at least resonable. also i guess my friends and i are going to deals gap( i hope i spelled that correctly) for his bachelor party. Were in Ohio, Cleveland area. So i would like to ride there and back but would like to be able to feel my *** at least part of the way. any thoughts?

 

I'm not sure how far your ride is (I only know So. Cal. area), but speaking for myself, I've gotten used to the stock seat on my 04 and can put in 200+ miles in the 'twisties' comfortably...I'm 6'1", 200lbs.
Of course you can always upgrade the seat to a Corbin or Sargent, etc.

I`m 6 and 210 pound, and never have a problem. Another thing to consider is, if ya ride it right you`ll be stopping for fuel every 100mile or so. i always have a quick leg stretch then.

 

A word of caution about the seat: if you do get a 1000RR make sure you have time to put about 2K miles on it before your long trip. By then you'll love the stock seat. If you pop its cherry on a 1000 mile ride it'll brutalize your ***.

 

Hey jim, i'm in ga, be careful in dill's gap, it can be brutal, especially if you jump onto the skyway.

 

hmm better stick with the older bikes then bc the 1000s are getting smaller and smaller.

I find that the stock seat kills my taint on long runs. I'm a shorter rider(5'7") so I tend to hug the tank a bit more than I really should on the bike in order to touch well, and feel right when shifting.

If you adjust position on a regular basis, the uncomfort factor can be minimized. I plan to purchase an after market seat and Heli Bars to put the bike into a less agressive stance for daily driving.
