I got a 04 cbr 600rr Let bike sit up over winter for the first time and batt was dead jumped it off with car off let it run shut it off wouldent start figured was batt put a batt from a smokin joe edition an will jump off and run but dies after u dissconect cables that would mean the stator is bad correct¿

 

You need to check the battery voltage while the engine is running at 3k rpm or more.

 

Definately need to check the battery. The issue here is a motorcycle charging system is nothing like a car. A car can run without the battery and run soley on the alternator. A bike cannot run without the battery as the charging system on a motorcycle is not strong enough to run it. The bike actually runs off the battery and the charging system simply recharges the battery. So, if your battery is bad, the bike won't run.

Take your battery out and have it tested. Most places like autozone or advance auto will check it for free.
