I'm lookin to purchase a power commander for my 04.I found one for sale but its listed as an 05 part #210012.Will it still work on the 04.Also is it really a benifit?. 04 cbr 600rr

Im not sure if they are the same or not. But if its a benifit is up to what your doing with the bike.

If its stock, then I wouldnt even consider it. You can clean up some throttle response and maybe pick up a hp here or there, but, thats only with a proper tune.

If you have a slip on exhaust, it can help a bit, but only with a proper tune. Downloaded maps are ok,( some are great, others dont do anything) but to get the most out it, you will need to have the bike dyno tuned. Again, you may pick up a few hp and clean up the throttle response a bit, but its a split call here. you dont really need one, but they can help a little.. but Probably not enough to offset the cost involved in the unit plus the tuning.

If your heavily modified... such as intake, full system exhaust..ect.. then absolutely you should take advantage of one.
