DumbQuestion When should you have your valves adjusted? And should you have it done more often if the heads have been ported and polished? I didnt figure it made a difference just wanted to be sure

 

depends on the bike. Most 600's are 16,000 intervals and most liter bikes are 20,000 intervals. But, this is only a check.. its not always going to be an adjustment. They only require adjustment if they are out. If your hearing any ticking, they are probably fine. I've seen 600's go 60,000 miles without any check or adjustment.

the porting shouldnt have anything to do with the valve adjustment.
