I lost the only key I had for my '05 f4i. With a little bit of luck and a little bit of cash, I called a reputable locksmith to come out. He picked the gas tank and made me some new keys. How? I have no idea...the gas tank has 5 tumblers, and the ignition has 8. My guess is the locksmith had a lot of experience and knowledge. For me, this was the best solution with the least amount of stress. But it did cost a small fortune...$150. I also tried to remove the ignition myself, but it just didn't work for me.
