Default Petcock Leaking Gas

I have fuel leaking from a peace attached to the petcock

http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_02...30&parent=5120

If you look at the diagram it is coming out of the 9 option... however i do not think this is the problem as the gas leaks when the petcock is turned off... Am i to asume that it is the peace that attaches to 9 the peace the petcock lever attaches to? Because really this is the part that stops the gas from flowing when the petcock is turned off.

Any feedback would be great

Preston

Check the hoses and clamps that attach to the petcock. If you've got a 91 bike with original fuel lines, they may need to be replaced.

Sometimes if the needle and seat in one of the carbs gets gummed up, it will stick open and fuel will leak out of an overflow. I'm not sure if the nipple you referenced is an overflow thing, or not.

It also looks like that #9 part has some sort of diaphram in it. When they go bad (crack or split from age), it can cause leaks from the sides or from the overflow, too.

Hope this helps.
