Painting Plastics : Krylon Fusion??
any urathane clear whether its flat or gloss, will have the same protection properties. But, then you are talking about droping some money on actual paint and not spray cans. Spray can clear is nothing more than a clear spray paint, it doesn't protect any better.
That is one huge down fall. Every time I get fuel or something not so nice on my paint job I need to spray clear coat in the area and buff it out again. It's not hard, but it obviously doesn't protect well.
I bought a bike with a very bad uneven spray job and used Krylon fusion to respray all the fairings and the tank. I was happy with the way it performed. There was good adhesion and no peeling whatsoever. It has held up well to rain and sun for about a year. I did not use a separate primer. I'd use it again.
